Mining industrial waste: mineralogical features

Forced storage of a huge amount of wastes, their removal to dumps, environmental risks testify to a very unfavorable situation in the complex use of mineral raw. Our paper considers this problem from the point of view of technological mineralogy within the framework of «Strategy for the Development of Russian Industry for Processing, Utilizing and Neutralizing Production and Consumption Wastes up to 2030». An individual complex of mineralogical analysis methods is used for each type of the wastes. We show that mineralogical characteristics (mineral and (or) phase composition, mode of occurrence of a useful component, morphostructural features and character of distribution, real composition and structure) are inherent for the mining wastes, which subsequently determine the strategy and tactics of its secondary use.
