The subject of this study is to rethink the concept of “city". The author made an attempt to look at it not as a set of “city-forming" factors, such as industry, transport hubs, logistics centers, etc., not as sleeping areas and places of employment, but to see and feel the network of time, from the moment of birth to the current moment covering any city. To understand the role of previous generations who left “records" in the book of times, to preserve a place for future generations, having determined the direction and goal of the development of the city, in such a rapidly changing world. Without understanding what a city really is, we can either condemn it to extinction and stagnation, or to insane growth and reproduction, making it extremely uncomfortable and harmful for living. The focus was made to look at the city as a product created in the image and likeness of the creator himself - man, to rethink the notion of a city in the context of a space of cultural memory, the memory of generations, times, history.
