The novel of Turkish writer and Nobel Prize winner Ferit Orhan Pamuk is commented in the article. The author touches upon the difference between concepts 'hüzün' and 'tristesse' which are express semantic nuances of sorrow. It is emphasized in the article that in order to distance himself from politics, one has to reject all nationalist ideologies existing here and now.
