Urban agglomerations as national and regional centers of economic growth

The role of urban agglomerations as potential centers of innovative economy and economic growth in modern Russia is considered. The required changes to ensure this role in the system of territorial administration and strategic planning of the economy are analyzed. The necessity of turning agglomerations into a full-fledged object of territorial planning with a developed system of forecasting and program documents is substantiated. The question about the creation of permanent bodies for coordinating the development of urban agglomerations is posed.
