Urban settlements of Eastern Siberia in the canvas paintings of the artsists of the beginning of the XIXth century: information space formation

The article presents the history of forming the information space of the cities of Eastern Siberia at the beginning of the XIXth century. One of the most important components of the urban cultural environment formation and everyday life is the information space, methods of information transmission, communication channels and interactions. The cities of Eastern Siberia were the centers of collection, processing and transmission of information, cultural exchange. The development of diverse communication channels determined the intensity of interaction of the urban population and the necessity for cultural exchange, to a large extent. The artists also studied the region, transferred information to the center and other cities of Siberia. Some of them were working in the institutions studying the region, while others were receiving education at the educational institutions having devoted their lives to teaching. The study proves that at the beginning of the century, local and visiting artists painted the portraits of the inhabitants, landscapes of the cities of Eastern Siberia. During that period, the region was actively explored thanks to the geographical expeditions which recorded the data on Eastern Siberia.
