Municipal economy: from “the city of the sun” toward the smart city

The article is an attempt to examine the historic and conceptual relation between the utopian ideas of an ideal city (municipal economy) and modern technologies of turning real cities into smart cities by implementing intelligent information systems and products of progress of science and technologies in the sphere of municipal economy.
