"State charity" as a feature of the social function of the Russian state

In this article the author points out the features of the social function of the Russian state; identifies such a subfunction as charitable. The author has highlighted a number of characteristic features inherent in modern charity in Russia: this is the transition from «traditional» charity to digital, including the development of endowment funds; fundraising culture; This is a course towards solidarity, manifested in the conditions of a special operation. A peculiarity of Russian charity based on financing the activities of non-profit law enforcement organizations is the insignificant share of financial assistance from individuals and legal entities; existence at the expense of the state. At the same time, the author notes the presence of a negative tendency to use the feeling of compassion inherent in the Russian people in various fraudulent schemes. In the structure of non-profit organizations, the women’s movement traditionally stands out.
