The government award: historical and legal analysis

The scientific relevance of the research is determined by the need for improvement of the legal mechanism of regulation and the self-regulation of an individual. The legal incentive is an important method of community-minded person development. The article carries out a historical and legal analysis of emergence and development of the government awards as a kind of legal incentives. The regulatory rules of giving government awards in the Russian Federation are reviewed. The author presents an original definition of the government award concept in content, legal functional, legal information aspects. It is concluded that it is necessary to combine spiritual and legal components of this legal incentive.
