The state policy of the Russian empire regarding development of handicrafts in the Caucasus at the turn of the XX century

The article discusses the main activities carried out by the Russian Empire government in the Caucasus within the framework of implementation of the state policy on development of handicrafts. The author describes the activities of the Caucasian Artisanal Committee, highlights the stages of its operation. It is concluded that the handicraft industry was unified in the Russian economic policy.
