State policy of Soviet state concerning abortions in 1920-1930-ies: from permission towards absolute prohibition

In the article the pre-war period in the development of the Soviet state policy concerning artificial interruption of pregnancy is considered. The basic decisions legislatively regulating birth rate in Soviet Union are resulted and analyzed. The basic statistics of pregnancies and abortions in 1920-1930th is shown.
