State policy concerning abortions in postwar period (1945-1950-ies)

The article investigates the postwar period in the development of Soviet state policy concerning artificial interruption of pregnancy. There are provided the sources of central and regional archives, regulations and statistical information, press materials. The special research interest presents the changing attitude of the party and the government on the issue of abortion from the complete ban to the expansion of medical evidence, and then to the permission to carry out the operation.
