Public-private partnership is a young institution in the modern world, because it first appeared in the 2000s in Russia. Despite its early appearance, public-private partnership is an integral part of infrastructure development, which can contribute to improving not only the life of the population as a whole, but also various economic indicators of the country. Currently, there are a huge number of innovative projects to improve the lives of the population, but all these projects require funds, which the regions do not have enough. The solution is to join with someone, and then a public-private partnership can help, which shares all the powers and costs between the state and the private entrepreneur. Each of the parties benefits from this interaction, which is a huge plus. This article examines such an institution as public-private partnership, the reasons for its appearance in Russia, the reasons for choosing at present, and the positive results of public-private partnership. The article presents a rating of regions by the level of development of the sphere of public-private partnership, and provides examples of various management mechanisms. In addition to the above, this article analyzes the largest projects in Russia for 2016-2019 with the expected results for both sides.
