State-private partnership in continuing education as a factor of transition to knowledge economics

The article deals with the relevant problem of knowledge-based economics formation. This process is getting a clearer outline in developed countries, starting from the second half the 20th century. Taking into account its huge significance, the World bank suggested using «economics knowledge index» as the general index. According to its criteria Russia is behind many countries. The author thinks that one of the restraint factors here is a contradictory character of educational establishments in Russia stipulated by the market economics relation activities. Due to that there is a disbalance between the interests of producers and consumers of educational services. State-private partnership can become a real mechanism of its harmonization. Its inclusion in the system of education is an important resource for Russia to transit to knowledge economics.
