The proposed review contains a brief summary of the round table speeches on the issue: "State and legal policy of the Russian Federation: main directions and ways of development" held on March 19, 2021 at the Law Institute of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University. The relevance of the chosen subject matter is stipulated by the fact that the implementation of state and legal policy is always aimed at creating an effective mechanism of legal regulation affecting the main areas of public relations, including the consolidation and provision of fundamental human and civil rights and freedoms, strengthening the rule of law and law and order, the formation of legal statehood and a high level legal culture and legal awareness in society. The purpose of the round table is to carry out a legal analysis of certain areas of state and legal policy of the Russian Federation, identify problems, as well as search for and formulate proposals for its development and improvement. The main objective of the round table was to involve the student community in the study of theoretical and practical issues on the selected topic of discussion. The lecturers, students, undergraduates, as well as members of the student scientific circle "Demeter – the Legal Vector" at the Theory and History of State and Law Department of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University Law Institute attended the round table. Based on the results of the round table, it follows that the development and improvement of state and legal policy is an important element of statehood, since through its implementation the tasks facing the state are resolved at the appropriate stage of its development.
