The religion-state relationship in contemporary Russian society

The article deals with the main aspects of contemporary relationship between state and religion in Russian society. We have substantiated that use of the term "religion-state relationship" fully reflects the nature of this interaction. The transformations in modern society led to changes in all spheres of human life, including religion; there is a disturbing trend of clericalism in society. We have described the basic model of relationships between state and religion and the characteristics of state-religion cooperative model in Russia. The nature of relationship between religion and state is most clearly represented in education sector. Positive and negative aspects of state and religion rapprochement are indicated. We conclude that today it is a time for new state-religion relationships in Russia, because the last model has been exhausted.
