The state council of the Republic of Dagestan and the head of the Republic of Dagestan as subjects of regional crime prevention

The aim of the article is to analyze the criminal atmosphere of the republic, as well as to study the practice of the authorities and administration in combating crime. Regional criminology is one of the promising directions of criminology, which is currently undergoing the stage of qualitative updating of its methodological tools. Regional criminology is formed as a relatively new field of scientific knowledge, based on the statement of a number of variable characteristics of the state of crime, arising from the territorial, socio-economic and ethno-cultural diversity, inherent in modern social relations. In relation to the present study, it is required to provide state authorities and local authorities with an adequate picture of crime in the republic, the causes of its reproduction, as well as an effective strategy of impact on crime. The paper identifies some of the problems that arise during the implementation of the powers of the highest official of the region. Such a study is relevant not only in relation to Dagestan. Its methodology and methodology can be further extended to other subjects of the Federation.
