The main content of the paper represents the analysis of the documents stored in the Russian State Archive of Ancient Deeds, the formal notes of the Tersky voivode P. Priklonsky and two tsarist certificates. They have never been published or used by scientists in researches on the history of the North Caucasus. Comparison of these new sources with the materials already known to historians helped to reveal certain previously unknown facts concerning the events of 1615-1616 in Kabarda, mainly the attacks of Khoroshai murza and the Nogais against Kazy murza, and introduce them to the scientific world. It had been able to clarify the place of their battle, the number of troops taking part in it, and their losses. The documents also contain the information about the consequences of this battle: the refusal of Khoroshai murza to recognize the tsar authority, having to do of Tsar Mikhail Romanov, as well as the Crimean Khan and Dagestan rulers with the feud in Kabarda and the murder of Kazy murza. Thus, the paper allows a number of gaps in the history of the North Caucasus of the 17th century to be filled.
