Civil dialogue in the European Union and Eurasian integration project

The article discusses the constitutional, legal and political institutionalization of civil dialogue in the EU. Though the term “civil dialogue” has no clear definition it is regarded as the most important institution of participatory democracy and deliberative process in the EU. The article presents the main forms of civil dialogue and reveals the role of civil society organizations in the transnational integration process in the EU. These communicative processes of integration in the EU are compared with the dialogue between the state and civil society in Russia and other Eurasian countries of the post-Soviet space.
