The article analyzes the trends and potential scenarios of the gubernatorial elections in 2017. The author assumes that the problematic background of election campaign in Russian regions in 2017 is largely accordant with the federal election campaign of the VII State Duma. Special attention is paid to the regional peculiarities of the process of gubernatorial campaigns.
