The governors in the local authorities system and their contribution to the solution of the food supply issue in the Russian empire during the First World War (July 1914 - February 1917)

The paper examines the role of governors in the system of local authorities and their contribution to the solution of the food supply issue in the Russian Empire during the First World War. The author analyses governors' relationships with central and regional authorities and comes to a conclusion that governors' lack of capability to solve the food supply issue led to the increasing political crisis in the provinces.
