The research was conducted on the basis of the educational and experimental farm of the Omsk State Agrarian University in 2020-2022. The purpose of the research is to study economically valuable signs of a new source material for the breeding of Spanish sage (Salvia hispanica L.), created in the conditions of the southern forest-steppe of Western Siberia. The objects of research were two new forms of culture obtained during selection in local conditions - 01/18 and 0/18, capable of flowering and forming full-fledged seeds with a day duration of 12-15 hours. During the research, it was found that these samples differ from the standard in higher sowing qualities: germination energy and laboratory germination - 99-100%, field germination - up to 87%. The safety of plants in the field also exceeded the standard values and was at the level of 96-98%. The growing season of new crop forms averages 131-134 days over the years of research. The length of the inflorescences, the number and weight of seeds from the peduncle, and the weight of seeds from the plant are significantly higher than the parameters of the sample taken as standard. New forms of Spanish sage 01/18 and 0/18 are recommended for use in the breeding process for the creation of new varieties, since they went through the process of introduction in the conditions of the southern forest-steppe of Western Siberia.
