Description of adolescents’ attitude to narcotics as a social phenomenon in the modern society (exemplified by high school students of the 7th - 10th grades)

The article deals with the questions of the attitudes to narcotic substances expressed by the teenagers having experience in using drugs and without such an experience, who responded positively or negatively to the hypothetical offering of a drug. Based on the data of sociological surveys, conducted in the Volga region, the author analyzes the correlation between the decision of an adolescent to take drugs and the particular life circumstances. In addition, the paper presents a detailed description of the possible motivations of using narcotic substances. It is revealed that many teenagers believe the drugs to be a means of solving of personal problems.
