Characteristics of the current state of corruption crimes and their prevention through legal education in educational organizations

Introduction: The article considers corruption as a socially dangerous negative phenomenon of modern society. Based on the analysis of official statistical data for the last 5 years, quantitative and qualitative characteristics of corruption-related crime in Russia are determined, its fundamental, legal, organizational and economic, social and cultural-historical factors are analyzed. Methods and Materials: The research materials were scientific articles by scientists devoted to the study of corruption as a social phenomenon, determinants of corruption offences, legal culture and experience of countering corruption in the international community, countering corruption in the context of legal education of young people in the educational system, as well as official statistical data of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the last five years. In addition to the dialectical method of cognition, the research used such specific scientific methods as formal-logical, structural and statistical. The Results of the Study made it possible to identify trends in corruption crime in modern Russia and, taking into account the analysis of the causal complex, to propose educational measures in educational organizations to neutralize it. Findings and Conclusions: The conducted analysis allowed us to come to the conclusion that one of the main factors in combating corruption at present is the legal education of citizens. In order to effectively combat corruption, it is necessary to form and develop both professional and “everyday” competencies in the field of anti-corruption behavior.
