Characteristics, structure and dynamics of public finances in the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire

This article deals with the structure and dynamics of public finances in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and describes the importance of the efficiency of government expenditure and revenue system. In the analysis we show that the costs are based on staff salaries of public administration institutions, investment in the economy and some other areas, public debt service and that taxes serve as a main source of accumulation. Further, we identify the main public finance mechanisms to reduce public debt and the possibility to strengthen the management of public debt. At the end of the article we outline the ways to improve public financial management system, which can be applied in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
