Analysis of modern scientific sources allows us to assert that the fundamental concept of combating criminal manifestations in modern conditions is becoming a focus on the victimological direction of criminological policy . At present, this process can be observed in the examples of combating crime associated with human trafficking . In many sources of specialized literature, criminal manifestations sacred to human trafficking are usually called modern slavery . This type of criminal activity is a profitable, fast-growing and criminal business, since it provides slave traders with high incomes with minimal risks . Fear of being punished by slave traders, or distrust of law enforcement agencies contributes to the high latency of the considered crime . In turn, due to the high latency of these criminal attacks, it is quite difficult to assess the entire scale of the slave trade . In particular, at present there is also no unified system for collecting information data allowing for more effective identification of victims of the considered illegal activity . This circumstance significantly complicates obtaining accurate information on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of victims of the slave trade . As a rule, victims of the slave trade are systematized by various features, in particular: taking into account their age and gender characteristics; social status; profession; occupation; as well as on the basis of factors influencing their victimization . In the course of the study, the author analyzed the features and most important characteristics of victims of the slave trade . In addition, he identified the moral and psychological traits and characteristics of probable victims of the criminal attacks under consideration, as well as their most characteristic psychological features . In addition, the author emphasizes the need for further development of systematic and qualitative approaches aimed at studying the victimological characteristics of this category of victims of the slave trade . First of all, this is necessary because domestic law enforcement officers have to increasingly deal with victims of the slave trade and provide them with various types of assistance . Knowledge of the typical personality traits of victims of human trafficking can enable law enforcement officials to better structure criminal investigation processes, as well as to carry out work to prevent criminal behavior by this category of victims .
