Departments of chemistry at universities of the USSR in the period of the Great Patriotic War

The offered paper made an attempt to show operation of chemistry departments of Soviet universities in the period of the Great Patriotic War. The author analyzes complexities in evacuation of a number of universities and their chemistry departments to eastern regions of the Soviet Union, arrangement of teaching and educational work with students in new locations, and also academic research by the faculty. An example of the Moscow University has shown the essence of the national policy of reorganization of higher education in chemistry in the years of war.
