Chemoradiation therapy of locally advanced cervical cancer (preliminary results)

The efficacy of chemoradiation therapy (CRT) and radiation therapy (RT) was analyzed for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. The overall survival rate was tended to be higher for patients treated with CRT than for patients treated with RT. The 3-year survival rate was 78.0%) for patients who received CRT and 65.2% for patients treated with RT (p>0.05). Distant metastases were detected less frequently in patients with CRT than in patients with RT (11.1% versus 40.7%).
