Surgical treatment of fibrocystic mastopathy: current trends

Бесплатный доступ

The present article discusses the causes, pathogenesis, and risk factors of fibrocystic mastopathy (FCM) ma-lignization. The main risk factors for FCM and breast cancer are similar and include hormonal impairments leading to mastopathy. We identified hormonal imbalance resulting in impairments in other hormone-producing organs. Conservative therapy for FCM is not always successful. Minimally invasive surgical techniques are widely used for the treatment of FCM; however, their number is not sufficient. Current literature suggests that sclerotherapy with 1% sodium tetradecyl sulfate solution is a promising method, which ensured good results in patients with FCM.
