Economic and educational activities of the committees of the Moscow society of agriculture. 19th - early 20th centuries

The article analyzes the forms and methods of managing the modernization of the agrarian sector in Russia in the 19th - early 20th centuries. Moscow Society of Agriculture (MOSH). Society has become a means of communication through various forms of organization to identify scientific achievements in the agricultural sector. They can be conditionally divided into three categories: the introduction of scientific developments, economic and educational activities, and information activities. A brief analysis of the activities of the Ministry of Agriculture, contributing to agrarian rationalization, is given. It was established that 32 committees were formed under the Society for the entire hundred-year period of its functioning. On the example of the activities of the Committee of Sugar Brewers, the Committee of Sheep Breeding, the Committee of Cattle Breeding, the Committee of Sericulture, the Soil Committee, it is shown how their economic and educational activities contributed to the formation of new branches of agriculture, the introduction of scientific achievements into production. It is concluded that the success of the committees was largely associated with the solution of personnel issues. The scientific heritage of the committees is represented by journals, works, and shorthand materials of meetings, reports on their activities, news, notes, and books. A bibliometric analysis of the journals of the committees "Bulletin of Livestock Breeding", "Journal for Sheep Breeders", "Notes of the Committee of Sugar Brewers", "Russian Soil Scientist" is given. Committee publications are valuable sources for the study of agrarian history. The publishing policy of these journals laid the foundation for the formation of future agricultural periodicals. The task of scientific libraries is to make them accessible to historians using modern methods of information technology.
