Economy of the north of Yakutia: scientific expeditions of 1920-s - 1960-s

The article deals with the history of complex scientific study of the traditional economy of Yakutia's North by case study of the academic expeditions conducted in 1926 and 1959. The authors review the researchers' approaches to the structure and development prospects of the rural economy and businesses of Arctic indigenous peoples. The paper discusses how collectivization influenced the traditional economy of the rural population of the Northern Yakutia.
