The Transfiguration Church in Ligovo was built in the early 20th century and was consecrated in 1904 by the future Patriarch — Bishop of Yamburg Sergiy (Stragorodsky). For about 20 years during the Soviet period, its rector was archpriest Alexander Petrov, massacred for Patriotic activities under the German occupation. Several new martyrs were also members of the clergy. By the beginning of the Great Patriotic war, the Transfiguration Church remained one of the 16 active Orthodox churches in Leningrad and its suburbs. It was destroyed in October 1941 during the battle for the city. In the 1990s, the parish of the Transfiguration Church in Ligovo was revived, and in a few years the construction of the Church complex began, which has not yet been completed.
