The article presents information on gender and age characteristics and polymorbidity in cases of ulcerative colitis and Crohn''s disease. It has been shown that patients with Crohn''s disease are younger with 99 % probability, but in both diseases the ratio of men and women is identical. In cases of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, which are occurring in polymorbidity form, 2/3 of patients suffer from other gastroenterological diseases, especially diseases of the gastroduodenal zone (67,3 %) and chronic hepatitis (32,7 %). Other therapeutic pathology is registered more often in the case of Crohn''s disease than in the case of ulcerative colitis, which determines a higher Charlson comorbidity index.
