Chronology of the Iyus treasure objects (according to the results of the conventional and scientific dating)

Dating of treasures is regarded as one of the main tasks of these important archaeological sources examination. A rich collection of metal objects and goods made from organic materials included into the Khakhasian Iyus treasure provides broad opportunities for the conventional and scientific dating methods application. The complex use of the dating method based on objects similarities and X-ray spectral analysis results for determining some relative chronology of goods alloys as well as experimental radiocarbon dating of organic materials allows moving on with the discussion of the Iyus treasure chronology issue to its fullest extent. The set of objects included into the present collection can be dated back to the time period from the second half of the 1st Millennium BC till the period of the Hun active influence in the Enisey region at the end of the 1st Millennium AD. The results of the experimental radiocarbon dating of organic materials made from birch bark and leather included into the Iyus treasure are mainly dated back to the transition period between the two eras. It does not contradict the chronology of its set of objects according to the conventional archaeological data.
