A work of art in the meaning of a cultural simulacrum

The paper explores the role of an artistic work in the structure of modern culture. The main attention is focused on the content of the work as a cultural simulacrum. This trend reflects strengthening the Metamodern context of modern processes. According to the author, simulations in the form of a work are subjected to the fundamental aspects of cultural existence: the real-historical space of culture (time and space, chronology, socio-economic, military, political, ideological events and phenomena, biographical context of personality), the social and everyday environment (realities of the house, urban space, natural environment), the psycho-symbolic and intellectual space of the individual (reality of consciousness, holistic model of the world, social communication). As a material, a wide range of artistic objects is considered - from installations to alternative history in folk history, cinema and literature, computer games, hoax novels and other artifacts.
