Genuine realism of characters, documentary basis of plots, deep psychological representation are inherent in the works of V. I. Kryukov. The author raises moral issues of ignobility and honesty, friendship and betrayal, selfishness and self-sacrifice. In spite of everything, the characters believe in the triumph of good and justice. The sense of patriotism became the dominant mood of his books. The writer depicts ordinary and dear to him people that, despite all the difficulties of life, preserve their best qualities. The author is most of all concerned with the thought about the destination of a human being on the earth, about the difficult search for one’s place in life and, therefore, the way to oneself. Homeland and Tver region are foremost in the value system of the writer.
