The surprising similarity of Merimee’s novel “Il vicolo di m-ma Lucrezia” and Turgenev’s novel “Three meetings” is showed in this article. This similarity remains a literary mystery. It is possible to explain it by the creative “co-thinking” on the part of of both writers.
