I. S. Shmelev on truth of life in Chekhov's works

The paper undertakes to define typological varieties of truth of life notion that is actively used by literary criticism. This notion is considered from the position of its compliance with the criteria of artistic evaluation revealing the Christian dominant of a literary work reflected in texts by A. Chekhov and I. Shmelev. The researcher also studies Shmelev's religious and philosophical perception as a writer of artistic and ideological positions of A. Chekhov.
