The ideal of parenting in the heritage of expatriate Russians

The paper analyzes the models of parenting proposed in the works of expatriate Russian thinkers and teachers. The author concludes that the Russian immigrants studied family upbringing using philosophical and anthropological approach. They understood family and parenting as a fundamental issue of being and knowledge, the basis of which was laid by Christian ideas about the purpose of man on earth. The model of parenting and education described in the works of Russian scientists was the essence of their contemplating the future of their native country. Such reflections, as Ivan Bunin has noted, were a «mission of the Russian emigration».
