Ideas of professor V.V. Chuprova in the study of organic substance of agrogenically conversed soils of Siberia

The paper provides a brief outline of the scientific activities of Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor V.V. Chuprova and her contribution to the study of the organic matter of agrogenically transformed soils in Siberia. Chuprova obtained new materials on the humus state of soils in the agricultural part of the Krasnoyarsk Region, Khakassia and Tuva; studied the features of biological productivity and the cycle of nitro-gen and ash elements in soils under agricultural crops, gave estimates of production and destruction processes, described the exchange processes of nitrogen carbon in agrocenoses; revealed the role of agrogenic impact on the transformation processes of the labile part of soil organic matter; substantiated the prospects of regulation and reproduction of fertility of chernozems in Central Siberia. Research con-ducted by her and her students made it possible to quantify, analyze and predict changes in soil fertility of agrogenically transformed soils. The original materials and the provisions they formulated found application to determine the degree of destructiveness of agroecosystems, as well as to develop the theory of agroecological foundations for the rational use of soil potential in the agricultural part of the Krasnoyarsk Region. Quantitative estimates of the content, reserves and dynamics of soil organic matter were obtained; regularities were established for the processes of transformation of organic matter, its role in the formation of the stability of the soil structure. A lot of work was done on monitoring and ecological optimization of landscapes on technogenically disturbed lands. It is shown that studies of the zonal-regional features of the transformation of organic matter and humus formation, the biogeochemical cycle of carbon and nitro-gen serve as a fundamental basis for the search and development of new issues of agrosoil science
