Identity, event, dasein and death of the other

In the framework of the existential-ontological approach the article discusses the correlation of personal identity and socio-cultural identity. The author defines the temporality, events, death and mortality as existential foundations of the personal identity. Special attention is given to the death and the mortality of the Other as a ground constituting the personal foundation of the socio-cultural identities. The ontological character of attitude to the death of the Other is associated with the feeling of pain and anxiety.
