the article shows that the ideological confrontation between the USSR and the United States has played a major role in shaping the new architecture of international relations of the cold war. If the Soviet Union relied mainly on the theory of "the world revolutionary movement", in Washington's foreign policy strategy for ideological role played the phenomenon of "Americanism", part of which was the concept of "American exceptionalism".
