The article is devoted to the study of the important period inthe newest history of Mongolia,.Ikh Helmegdoolelt., which means.Great repressions.. The era of repressions affected not only the Soviet people, but also the Mongolian people during the 1920s-1950s. As a result of intensive emigration in the early twentieth century a large Buryat community was formedin Mongolia. The runaway Buryats were declaredas.counter revolutionaries.,.the whites. by Soviet authorities. During this period, the NKVD deployed the real.harassment. of the Buryats. The article describes the reasons for the beginning of the persecution of this social group. And more thoroughly the measures are studied against the students of the Mongolian Workers' Faculty in Verkhneudinsk (Ulan-Ude), many of whom were suspected of anti-Soviet activities.
