Image of the head of the department of internal affairs: social and hermeneutic aspect

The article presents the results of a sociological study of the image of the head of the internal affairs bodies (ATS) of Yakutsk on a hermeneutic approach. The work establishes the fact of the value of the image of the head of the Department of Internal Affairs in the perception of the population, explores the problem of understanding and interpreting the image of the head of the Department of Internal Affairs presented to the public. Based on theoretical analysis, new definitions are justified for the categories “head of the internal affairs department,” “image of the head of the internal affairs department.” Indicators are determined for assessing the image of the head of the Department of Internal Affairs in public consciousness. Based on the results of the bipolar method, the modern image of the successful head of the internal affairs department and the priorities in designing his professional image are shown. It is proved that, on the one hand, the image of the heads of the Department of Internal Affairs is a necessary condition for their professional activities; on the other hand, this is a factor of confidence of citizens in the structures of the federal executive branch. The role of the media in shaping public opinion about the Ministry of Internal Affairs is presented. It is justified that the image of the leaders of the Department of Internal Affairs is formed as a stereotype of the profession and should meet the expectations of the population. Public mechanisms for improving the image of the head of the internal affairs department are shown, practical recommendations are made to improve the image of police officers.
