Improvement of regional image as objective for socio-cultural policy

The problem in the development of the project on the promotion of a positive image of the Kursk Region on the interregional, federal and international levels is analysed in the article. Objectives for the increase in the role of symbols in the promotion of the region in the communicative space as well as element types of «image attractiveness» are determined. The problem of cultural heritage use as factor for social and cultural development of the region is touched upon.
