The article examines the basic principles of vaccine action, classification by generations and origin, as well as the prospects for the development of this field. The aim of this work is to conduct a comprehensive review of current trends in vaccination. Research methods include studying scientific literature, analyzing statistical data, and reviewing vaccination programs. The authors discuss the significance of new technologies, such as biosynthetic vaccines and methods of genetic engineering, in the development of effective drugs to protect children from infectious diseases. As a result of the study, key aspects of vaccine mechanisms of action in the development of new drugs were identified, including recombinant, biosynthetic, and modern technologies such as recombinant DNA technology and mRNA technology. The importance of national and regional vaccination programs is noted, and the Russian experience in the production and use of vaccines is analyzed.
