Empire and/or national state in the context of political modernization in Russia

This article is devoted to the current political, social and economic modernization process peculiarities in Russia. The authors pay attention to historic conditions of the Russian state development and investigate the empires past and settled mental images of the modern RF population. The latter significantly complicates the modernization process, though becomes the crucial factor for the successful current reformation.
