This article discusses the features of the specific management style of the imperial administrative elites’ representatives that has been formed under the influence of their personality traits and professional skills. The research results are based on carried out comparative analysis of practical experience and personality traits of representatives of management structures of Russian and British Empires, such as I.V. Gurko, the Governor-General of Vistula Land, and F. Lugard, the Governor-General of Nigeria.
