Imperial and soviet models of economic development: comparative analysis

The Revolution of 1917 interrupted but did not stop the general process of Russia's industrial modernization, which developed within the two models - pre-revolutionary and Soviet. There were drastic differences between them, both of them had their own difficulties and antagonisms, but they shared the major line - the modernization vector. Historically, the first, imperial model, failed, having entailed the revolution, while the other one ensured Russia-USSR to become a superpower.
