Imperial tradition as a basis of efficient national policy in Russia

The author considers the problem of national identity to be the primary reason of the crisis of the contemporary Russia. Almost all the republics of the former USSR have gone over to successful formation of the unitary state on ethnic grounds; however Russia carries out federalism development. The author regards a chosen method of statehood consolidation under current circumstances to be based upon imperial mentality of the nation.
