Implicitness as a factor of expansion of an existing word meaning

The paper covers the studies of implicitness phenomenon, which is regarded as a result of dynamic evolution of meaning in the process of cognitive and communicative efforts of an individual, allowing to implement the strategy of “cognitive and linguistic cost-result” effects. The implicit component of meaning is considered to be inferential knowledge, which is shared differently by communicating participants and is connected with the linguistic and non-linguistic means of explication.
